This program is a pathway to a career as an electrician or electronics engineer.

Electricians design, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances and facilities for industrial, commercial and domestic purposes, and service and repair lifts, escalators and related equipment.

Electronics Engineers design, develop, adapt, install, test and maintain electronic components, circuits and systems used for computer systems, communication systems, entertainment, transport and other industrial applications

Flexible Industry Pathway (2022 FIP)

This qualification provides an occupational outcome and a range of support tasks and serves as an introduction to the world of electrical systems. 

Core units of competency are delivered that are required in many Certificate II qualifications. Individuals will learn the essentials for entry-level work in this skills shortage area and be ready to take on a trade qualification.  The Electrotechnology industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment for positive outcomes.
